Ladder Truck/SUV/CAR Installation Instructions | ||
Step 1 Lay chains out flat, removing all tangles. When installing the chains, make sure the fold over fastener is on the outside and the tire and the "C" hook is positioned for the inside of the tire. The flat side of the cross chain hooks should lay against the sidewall. The legs of the hooks should face away from the sidewall of the tire. | ||
Step 2 Lay tire chains over the tire, cross chain hooks up and fastener on the outside of tire. Tuck first cross chain under tire. ![]() | Step 3 Hook inside "C" hook fastener first. Remove slack and hook outside fastener. Make chain as tight as possible by hand without the use of tools. ![]() | |
Note: It's important to get all the chain evenly distributed on the tire and make any length modifications before making any connections. | ||
Step 4 Attach the fold over locking plate fastener on the outside of the tire and fasten as shown below. ![]() | Step 5 (CAM CHAIN ONLY) Tighten the cams, ensure that the chains are snugly fitted to the tire and there is no excessive slack.Cams don't take the place of a tensioner. . ![]() |
Make chain as tight as possible by hand without the use of tools. Drive approximately 1/4 mile
to allow the chain to settle and if necessary re-tighten the inside "C" hook and the outside fold over fastener.
IMPORTANT: Optional Tensioners are always recommended. To ensure maximum life and performance of your tire chains, tire chains must be installed as tight as possible.
