Ladder Tractor Installation Instructions
Step 1 Lay chains out flat, removing all tangles. When installing the chains, make sure the fold over fastener is on the outside and the tire and the "C" hook is positioned for the inside of the tire. The flat side of the cross chain hooks should lay against the sidewall. The legs of the hooks should face away from the sidewall of the tire.
Step 2 Attach the tire chain ends to the helper and hook them into the tread as shown. Then, drive forward to feed the chain onto the tire. ![]() | Step 3 Remove the helper/assistance and straighten and center the tire chains on the tire. Work any chain that's bound or stuck in the tread to lay as even as possible in the tread. ![]()
Note: It's important to get all the chain evenly distributed on the tire and make any length modifications before making any connections.
Step 4 Connect the "C" hook on the backside of the tire. ![]() |
Make chain as tight as possible by hand without the use of tools. Drive approximately 1/4 mile
to allow the chain to settle and if necessary re-tighten the inside "C" hook and the outside fold over fastener.
IMPORTANT: Optional Tensioners are always recommended. To ensure maximum life and performance of your tire chains, tire chains must be installed as tight as possible.
